Arthur Pranno

Arthur Pranno is Director of String Studies and Associate Professor of Music at Florida Southern College, where he teaches violin and conducts both the Florida Southern Symphony Orchestra and the New Music Ensemble. Mr. Pranno is currently the Associate conductor and concertmaster of the Imperial Symphony Orchestra. After his early musical training in Chicago, he received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa and Master of Music from Arizona State University. He has studied conducting with James Dixon, Myron Welch and Dennis Russell Davies and violin with Steven Staryk, Leopold La Fosse, Paul Rolland and Allen Ohmes.

Mr. Pranno has served as Music Director of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra and Conductor of the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra. He has held faculty positions at Fort Hays States University, Arizona State University and the Echo Glen Chamber Music Festival.

He has guest conducted The Pilsen (Czech Republic) Philharmonic on two occasions, The Orchestra del Teatro Marrucina (Italy), and has guest conducted at the Mid-West International Band and Orchestra Clinic.

Mr. Pranno has conducted many All-County and All-State orchestras and has served as an adjudicator and clinician throughout the United States.
