Mentoring

Welcome to the Florida Orchestra Association Mentoring pages. The objective of the Mentoring Resource Program is:

  • To promote excellence in string teaching by providing varied online and other resources for new and experienced string teachers, including first- and second-year teachers, those new to teaching strings, and string teachers new to Florida
  • To provide an organized statewide support network through which new string teachers in Florida may connect and communicate with experienced mentors across the state

There are a number of resources available for you to download, modify, and use in your orchestra program. Clicking on the Mentoring menu to the right of your screen will open up a number of categories for you to explore. We hope these resources will help you to become a more effective string educator.

It is planned to add multi-media resources to this section of the myfoa.org. FOA members will also receive information about webinars featuring master teachers that you will be able to participate in from the comfort of your own home or office. Check back often and be sure that FOANews@myfoa.org is on the approved list of your spam filter.

Should you have written resources that you would like to share, please contact the FOA Mentoriing Chair, Sarah Morrison.
